Position Description (North Queensland):

Field Officer / Case Manager:

OzHelp Queensland Ltd is an industry based charity. Our core purpose is to reduce suicide rates and improve Mental Health and Wellbeing within the Queensland building and construction industry. Our primary ways of achieving this purpose are; by raising awareness, making help easy to easy to get and ensuring the help offered is appropriate for workers in the building construction industry. The successful applicant will be Townsville based. Their prime responsibility will be the implementation the MATES in Construction (MIC) program on sites between Mackay and Port Douglas. The position requires both community development and case management skills.

The successful candidate will:
· Promote the Mates in Construction program on new sites
· Conduct General Awareness Training (GAT) sessions on sites
· Support sites implementing the Mates in Construction program
· Provide case management for workers
· Respond to workers at suicide risk

Essential Criteria:
· A tertiary qualification at bachelor level or above within Human Services, Social Science or Psychology
· Eligibility for membership of relevant professional association
· Current Drivers License
· The flexibility to travel regularly across the region.
· ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) qualification – You can participate in an OzHelp ASIST workshop if you have not done ASIST.

Desired Criteria:
· Certificate IV – Training and Assessment
· Blue collar experience (Building, construction experience preferred)
· Knowledge of the Building and Construction industry
· Experience in suicide prevention and intervention

Conditions of Employment:
· Salary $55K plus $100 per week travel allowance (total $60,200.00 pa.) – Living away accommodation and meals paid in addition.
· Salary sacrifice of up to $16K per year (Approved Charity – subject to your own taxation advice)
· Company Car or Car allowance
· 5 weeks annual leave
· 38 hour per week (16 RDOs per year)
· 12 % Superannuation
· Study allowance of up to $1000 p.a. for approved study
· Annual fitness Allowance (600.00 pa.)
